From a single square to your own picture.
A guide to painting, changing your mind and keeping a local copy of Candy Canvas.
Choose a colour and a cell
Select a palette colour, then a square on the board. Build an outline, a repeated rhythm or a scattered pattern. The page does not score the result or impose a required subject.
Erase or take a step back
Use the eraser to remove colour from a cell. Undo reverses a recent edit. The butterfly example gives you an optional starting composition, and the clear control makes space for another idea.
Paint without dragging
The cells are controls you can reach from a keyboard as well as touch or a mouse. Move focus across the board with its supported keys and activate a square to apply the current tool.
Save before leaving
Save picture downloads a local SVG representation. It is your file to keep on the device, not a gallery submission or online backup. Reloading clears the editing state, so export a copy when you are happy with it.
A pattern can begin with five squares.
